As a Registered Clinical Counsellor/Psychotherapist with 25 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families, I use a client-centred, integrative approach to address the therapeutic goals of clients. No one should be defined by their diagnoses, and rather than placing emphasis on what is not working, I collaborate with clients to determine what actions can be taken to improve on their circumstances. All individuals exist along their own continuum of mental health, and with adequate supports and a focus on holistic well-being, every client can be nurtured towards growth and a healthier sense of self.
I work with clients in a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental environment to support the deconstruction of self-stigma, labelling and shame that often accompanies mental health issues. My aim is to encourage clients towards a deeper understanding of their challenges, while learning to utilize these challenges as a catalyst for growth and transformation.
