I have over fifteen years experience as a helping professional, first as an Occupational Therapist and then as a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals with a diverse range of issues such as adjusting to a new diagnosis (e.g. cancer), living with a chronic illness, grief, loss, anxiety, changes in mood, emotional dysregulation, and and changes in life roles. I also work with depression, anxiety and relationship issues.
Through the counselling process, I can help you to feel heard, understood, less alone and less afraid. We will work somatically, emotionally, relationally and experientially. We can work to help you re-engage in meaningful activities and key relationships. Together, we will explore your strengths and discover strategies for living the life that you want.
I provide individual therapy using a humanistic/person-centered and somatic/relational lens and use techniques that draw from Mindfulness-Based, Cognitive Behavioural, Emotionally-Focussed, Family Systems, and Trauma-Informed Therapies. I hold an MEd. Counselling Psychology (UBC). I am a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
