Clients tell me I’m calm, curious, and compassionate—a patient, friendly collaborator who helps them find insight, connection, and direction. I'm a good fit with people who sometimes feel a bit “different” or want something a bit different in life. Like most, I am somewhat wounded myself (and relatively comfortable with it), and that helps me connect with people experiencing loneliness, anxiety, depression, feelings of day-to-day boredom and restlessness, and (perhaps especially) existential angst.

Do you feel like your sensitivity is "too much," or your creativity is misunderstood? Is your nervous system "on edge," trying to survive in a fast-paced, achievement-driven world? Do you struggle to be fully seen? I work with people who are deeply creative, sensitive, and beginning to awaken to their own inner voice. At the same time, they may struggle to stay connected to themselves in a demanding, high-pressure environment. Overwhelmed by the demands of work and relationships, it can become difficult to trust their own inner voice.

I work with high-capacity adults, including those with ADHD or autism, who feel under-challenged, mentally overactive, or unable to fully express what they know is inside them. Many of my clients aren’t struggling to function—they’re struggling to feel fully engaged, aligned, or utilized. If you know you’re capable of more, but can’t quite translate that into your life, we’ll work to bridge that gap using somatics, relational work, and depth-oriented approaches that move beyond insight into real change. My approach is mutlmodal, adaptable, and personalized for each client, with the aims of supporting lasting, sustainable, change.

Welcome and thank you for being here. Whether you are new to therapy or returning for support, I can help you get unstuck, increase awareness, build practical skills, address underlying themes, break patterns, set boundaries, and get back to a place of greater connectedness to yourself and others. My approach to counselling strives to provide you with a compassionate and validating space to do your inner work. There’s nothing “too small/big” or “weird” that can’t be talked about in therapy so long as you feel safe enough to do so. My aim is to ensure you feel heard, understood, supported, and safe in therapy.

I grew up in a large extended family affected by mental health and addiction. This gave me a practical understanding of how people can make significant life changes and what holds them back from doing so. My approach is based on the idea that our feelings and behaviors are connected through the nervous systems.

People I work with often experience intense, difficult emotions that are hard to manage and may rely on coping behaviours that lead to more personal suffering and relationship turmoil. We work together to recognize negative patterns and self-limiting beliefs — and focus on implementing strategies that reduce suffering, build self esteem and result in a greater sense of personal effectiveness and wellbeing. The work we do is informed by DBT, ACT, CBT, mindfulness, and narrative therapy. And the supportive relationship we build forms the foundation for this path of personal growth.

My ideal clients live with chronic challenges of Anxiety, Depression, grief, loneliness; they may have lost hope that life could be different. They care deeply but somehow lost connection—difficulty managing emotions or chronic perfectionism and self-criticism have pushed others away. They’ve endured loss or trauma and feel adrift, isolated, unable to go forward, overwhelmed by the state of the world, and unable to feel hope or agency. Over the years, the fears and worries have grown, eroding a sense of freedom. They are ready to find hope and start working toward a life worth living: a life worth sharing.

We are living in extremely challenging times - witnessing the rise of fascism, genocides, war, displacement, and climate change. For BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, women, people with mental health issues, and others of marginalized identities, it is exhausting to exist in this colonial & capitalist world. These systems were not built for us. They constantly extract from us and undermine our worth. It is important to know that you matter and deserve to be heard in a space that does not blame you for not doing or being enough. I support people of marginalized identities & allies to process their grief, honour their rage, and heal their wounds.

I'm so glad you are here. I am currently accepting clients for supervision/consultation as a registered CCS with the CCPA. All other clients are referred to Tess Lavelle-Sutton (RSW) who is a member of this practice and accepting new clients. I arrive to my supervision practice with 12+ years of counselling in both the public and private sector; I understand burnout, imposter syndrome, scarcity mindset...and all the beautiful and hard parts of this work. I work from a fierce intersectional feminist lens and love witnessing therapists thrive, take big leaps in their career and watch their visions unfold (whatever they may be!).

My counselling approach is genuinely listening, not only to words, but the meaning, with understanding, compassion and kindness.  The positive therapeutic relationship between a client and counsellor is everything. I use a Humanistic-Experiential approach which nurtures openness, cultivating a deeply compassionate relationship with your inner self, and acknowledging your thoughts, feelings and desires without judgment. “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” ― Carl R. Rogers

I love working with individuals who feel they don’t quite fit into traditional or “normative” spaces. Therapy with me is a place where you can show up exactly as you are—no filtering, no judgment. Whether you’re navigating thoughts, feelings, or experiences that feel confusing, overwhelming, or even shameful, you’ll be met with warmth, respect, and genuine acceptance.

My approach is tailored to the needs of each individual. I emphasize the importance of a strong, compassionate therapeutic relationship and work primarily from a trauma informed, client-centered model. I incorporate elements of emotion focused, narrative, dialectical behavioural, internal family systems, parts work, attachment, strengths/resiliency based, and somatic approaches. I primarily work from a process oriented place by working on issues brought up in the moment and spending time breaking down the beliefs, emotions, and behaviours that accompany each issue.

Something feels off — and you're tired of carrying it alone. Maybe relationships feel strained, anxiety has become background noise, or life has shifted in ways you didn't expect. I work with people navigating anxiety, relationship struggles, grief, and major life transitions. My approach is trauma-informed, body-based, and collaborative. Whatever brought you here, you don't have to keep figuring it out by yourself. Counselling is a place to slow down, understand what's beneath the surface, and start building a life that feels like yours again. You set the pace. There's no pressure to have anything figured out before we begin.
