I am a psychotherapist who combines art therapy and talk therapy with body awareness. I enjoy working with adult clients with overlapping identities and particularly welcome people living with addictions or in recovery, BIPOC, sex workers, folks exploring their sexual or gender identity, and people living with anxiety. I am biracial, queer, able bodied, cisgendered, and a settler on this land. I am also a parent with a deep understanding of the ways our chosen and birth families shape us.

You’re not just looking for a therapist—you’re looking for someone who gets it. Life can feel heavy. Sometimes it’s the weight of relationships that leave you feeling drained. Other times, it’s anxiety that won’t let go, or the quiet exhaustion of trying to hold everything together—at school, at work, or at home. Maybe you’ve been navigating trauma, depression, anger, or self-harm in silence. You question your identity, belonging, and worth or have concerns related to women's mental wellness. My practice creates a space where your story is honored, and your healing journey supported. At the heart, you want to feel whole again.

Therapy can be an opportunity to bring awareness to your unconscious patterns, to discover where you have choice and to connect to your authentic self. Therapy is one way you turn towards yourself, this can be challenging when we’ve spent a life time turning away. We need time, space, and guidance to transform ourselves and forge a new path.

Relationships can be complex and navigating them can feel daunting, to say the least. When a relationship has been in a state of disconnection for a period of time, it can feel impossible to even know where to begin. It could be that you seem to have the same argument over and over again, your sex life has fizzled out, infidelity, general life changes that have impacted your ability to connect. Or maybe you just feel bored and unsatisfied. I work with people of all genders who are interested in improving their relationships and/or sex life, no matter where they are at. Single, coupled and everywhere in between.

I know how painful, stressful, and lonely life can be. In those difficult moments, it’s often hard to know what to do or where to turn. I am so humbled by the bravery it takes to begin this self-reflective journey, and I am committed to holding a safe, compassionate space as we walk that path together. Our sessions might involve making sense of difficult experiences, improving relationship dynamics, deepening self-understanding, reconnecting with your inner strength, or simply finding a bit more ease in daily life.

I understand how vulnerable it can feel to open up in therapy. Sharing our deepest concerns in the hope we’ll be met with warmth is a human experience! I understand this firsthand as someone who goes to therapy myself! That’s why I show up with compassion, humour, authenticity, and curiosity to create a space where all parts of you are welcome. My name is Daniel Oommen and I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Certified Sexologist. At my practice, I specialize in sex therapy, couples therapy, and trauma therapy. My hope is to support change that feels both meaningful and sustainable, without ever rushing the process.

Wow, it’s a tough time right now, how are you holding up? If it seems like the tide you’ve been swimming against your whole life just turned into a tsunami, you’re not alone. Being queer, trans, neurodiverse, non-monogamous, or otherwise outside of the box isn't easy, even at the best of times, but you don’t have to face it on your own. Whether you're suffering with anxiety, depression, stress or burnout, struggling in your relationships, or grappling with an increasingly hostile world, we all deserve the support, connection and care we need to show up as the partners, caregivers, creatives, healers and changemakers we long to be.

Being alive means that we will experience pain, crave meaning, and eventually, confront death. It is normal, and even necessary, to experience anxiety in response. The question is whether this anxiety motivates us or paralyzes us. Problems arise when we are unable to feel a sense of agency in our lives; and it is through increased awareness that we can become better equipped to build the kind of life we want to lead and flourish into the kind of people we want to be. I work best with clients who want to be their most authentic selves, and are willing to dig deep to heal their past and create a better future for themselves.

I work with trauma and abuse survivors who are deeply self-aware yet still feel trapped by unresolved trauma symptoms. You may carry a heavy sense of shame, deep fear of failure, low self-esteem or the belief that you’re a burden. Maybe you've done talk therapy before, but it only scratched the surface. You crave something deeper: space to fully process, integrate, and reclaim yourself. This is a soft and nonjudmental place to land. My work focuses on healing shame, regulating the nervous system, rebuilding self-trust, & reconnecting you with your authentic self.

Are you feeling stuck, disconnected, or struggling to feel comfortable with yourself or others? Does it feel like memories, relationships or experiences from the past continue to hijack your mind and body? Trauma symptoms can show up in a variety of ways, often mistaken as simply anxiety, panic, depression, low self-esteem, or relationship difficulties. If you are ready to try therapy that goes deeper than simply reframing thoughts, you've come to the right place. I bring a compassionate and non-judgmental approach. Common areas I work with are perfectionism, anxiety, relationships, trauma, self-worth, and sensitive folx.
