At some point, something shifted. Maybe a relationship you counted on started fracturing. Maybe the faith community or career that once defined you no longer fits. Maybe you're figuring out who you are or who you're allowed to be for the first time. That kind of disorientation is exhausting. And it often comes with a particular loneliness, because the people around you don't always understand what you're going through.

My ideal clients are family members impacted by a loved one’s addiction—parents, partners, spouses, and adult children who feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and unsure of what to do next. Many come to me feeling trapped between wanting to help and protecting their own well-being. Through counselling, coaching, family support groups, and practical strategies, I help them understand addiction, establish healthy boundaries, rebuild confidence, improve communication, and regain a sense of control. The goal is not to change their loved one—it’s to help them heal, grow, and move forward regardless of someone else's choices.

Hi, I’m Megan. I support young adult men and women who are used to holding everything together for others while quietly struggling on their own. You may be the person others rely on, the one who keeps going, caring, and pushing through even when you’re overwhelmed. Somewhere along the way, you may have learned to minimize or suppress your emotions, overthink everything, or put your own needs aside just to get by. Often, these patterns began as a way to navigate difficult experiences, relationships, or environments. Sometimes, you simply know something doesn’t feel okay, even if you can’t explain why.

You may be noticing that things feel heavier than they used to, or that you’re feeling unsure, stuck, or overwhelmed at times. Perhaps you’re managing a lot of responsibility, or simply sensing that something isn’t quite right and you’d like support in making sense of it. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin! Therapy can be a confidential space to slow down, reflect, and find a steadier footing as you move forward.

Many of the men, women, couples and families I work with feel stuck. They are caught in patterns of anger, anxiety, isolation, miscommunication or numbness that damage their relationships and hold them back. They often carry the weight of past experiences (trauma), family patterns, or beliefs that make it hard to genuinely connect with others, or feel safe, seen, and validated. My approach is not just about talking; it's about noticing, it's about action and reconnection. The goal isn't just to understand your past, but to build a practical toolkit so you can create a future with a deeper connection and a clear sense of purpose.

Are you looking for someone to lean on and share without judgment? My approach to therapy is listening with an open heart. There was a time I did not speak up and if I did, I thought people would be critical of me. I was extremely self-conscious, it took a crisis in my life to reach out for help. I am here today to tell you that this experience shifted my life tremendously. The crisis was an end of a relationship and a suicide in my family. I ended up going back to school after over 20’s years in the same job and I am a counsellor today. Choosing the right counsellor is important and this relationship should feel connective.

My vision is to support Individuals, Couples and families to discover their fullest potential, to believe in their abilities, to strengthen that self-trust and confidence in their lives. With that, they will be able to - Respond and remember the truth and trust in themselves when those struggles of life show up - express it in a healthy way, not holding on to it and have it negatively affect their relationship with themselves and others around them. Learn and have the tools to cope and express. In counselling, we start to heal the beliefs that keep each and every one of us separate, and we walk towards intimacy and connection.

If grief feels too heavy, anxiety is getting in the way of your day to day living, or negative experiences continue to shape how you move through life, you don't have to face this alone. Even considering reaching out speaks to your strength, desire, and readiness for something different. I understand how much courage it takes to consider change when you're feeling overwhelmed, tired, or unsure. I offer genuine and compassionate support where you can speak openly, be heard, understood, and begin to feel more like yourself again.

If you often feel stuck in your head and are curious about a more embodied, mindful, and arts-based approaches to therapy, I'd be glad to support you. Mindfulness based therapy can help reconnect the wholeness of our mind-body-heart, while arts based approach can nourish the kind of creativity and openness needed in facing life's storms. Doing counselling in and "with" nature can further nurture a sense of connection with something bigger than us, making our journey in navigating life's turbulent challenges less lonely.

Life can feel heavy when you are carrying the weight of past experiences into your current relationships. Many of the people I work with feel stuck in cycles of pain or disconnection, unsure how to move forward. Youth and young adults often come in carrying depression symptoms, anxiety, family conflict, or questions of identity. Families may be longing to rebuild trust and connection or need support moving through grief. What they all want is to feel seen, supported, and to move toward more balance, clarity, and hope.

The people I work with all have incredible stories and have lived many lives. They are rebels; choosing the road less travelled. Foraging their own path to healing and seeking someone to walk along side them. Some of the folks I work with are breaking generational patterns or healing from early experiences of trauma. Many are releasing internalized stereotypes that Western culture has given them. All are slowly coming home their authentic selves. Working with me offers a deep therapeutic connection; where all of you is welcome exactly as you are. We move beyond symptom management in a slow, deep and gentle explorative practice.

I have experience addressing a wide range of issues that bring people to counselling, such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I create a warm and genuine relationship with people that allows them to feel safe to explore the challenges they are facing. I aim to provide a comfortable and non-judgmental space where people can work with me to identify the issues that are causing them distress and explore solutions to these problems.

I, Nancy Aguirre, focus my practice on trauma because stressful life changes, neglect, abandonment, emotional/physical/sexual childhood abuse, rejection, exploitation, incest or family violence could result in experiencing distorted perceptions, emotions, beliefs and meanings about the self and life. Trauma freezes the traumatic experience in the nervous system creating unhelpful thinking, and negative self-assessment. These conditions can affect your capacity to tolerate and adapt to life's ups and downs; break old patterns that hold you back; avoid engaging in risky behaviours; and re-enacting your past traumas over and over.
