My background holds 40yr of extensive practice experience and continued learning. Expertise:all relationship concerns; recovery/healing from emotional hurts, losses, trauma. Such events, if in early years, can instill persistent insecurity, fears, loneliness and grief, causing troubled close relationships and inner-life: Restricting our core resilient nature where we keep strong potentials to be more open, creative, confident, realistic/effective persons. Mainly treat “self-regulation” problems: Social anxiety, shame/guilt, anger, depression; Overdependencies; Intimacy-sexuality, Communication; Identity-Personality issues;Selfcare.
My 'style' is committed engagement: developing a supportive-challenging connection that encourages open exploring; abundant feedback, resources, (humor as helpful). Perspectives applied: our deeper subconscious energies and persuasions; family dynamics ; Neuropsychology; social-cultural-historical factors; philosophy. Orientation: wholeperson wellness; noting your complexity and unique situation, passions and wisdom for discovering new meanings/choices, and voice.
As distress 'lives' in our physical-feeling self, insight can be insufficient. I use activating-experiential means (role play, practice experiment, art ), applying brain research, attachment/developmental psychology, analytic-interpretive processing (psychodynamic); C/DBT; trauma treatment; ‘internal self-state’; play therapy. Many seek therapy for how we feel, in our bodies, emotionally, how we think of ourselves. Especially in our most valued relationships. We want to be known, respected, loved for who we are. Emotion-focus is impt. Mainly, there's far less 'wrong' with us than we imagine/been told, have learned from how we've been treated.I seek to enable you to discover your essential "rightness" (among other things).

While I've studied and practiced the cited therapies, my usual approach combines many modes. Most of us come to therapy suffering stress due to having a "problem needing to be solved"(which sometimes has to be uncovered and identified) yet often this is complex. So,varied resources may be required. Most important, though, is you, understood and treated as a whole self, and distress-relief provided.
