Adverse childhood experiences, sexual trauma, and long periods of living in survival mode can quietly shape how you move through the world. When coping strategies that once helped begin to create more distress, therapy can offer a different way forward. You might feel constantly on edge, disconnected from your body, struggling with intimacy, or unsure why certain emotions, urges, or reactions feel so intense. Many people I work with have learned to cope by pushing things down, staying in control, or using substances to get through, only to find those strategies are no longer helping.
I work with people whose lives have been shaped by sexual or childhood trauma, men navigating mental health, identity, and the weight of stigma and societal expectations, the long-term impact of high-stress and crisis exposure in first responders, and those affected by intimate partner violence, anxiety, depression, challenges with intimacy, or addiction.
I’m a Canadian Certified Counsellor working with individuals 16+. I tailor my approach to fit each individual’s needs, primarily drawing from trauma-focused and compassion based approaches such as Polyvagal Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
