Adults finding ADHD symptoms are impairing their personal relationships and/or professional role may need new coping strategies. Compassion and curiosity guide my support of young adults (& teens 15 or older) with ADHD, whose impulsivity or poor organizational skills often burdens them with guilt and low self-esteem. If a mood disorder or anxiety is interfering with thriving in your workplace role, together we will develop self-soothing practices for your emotional regulation and occupational success. To nurture clients' bounce-back from trauma or help couples stuck in conflict, I draw upon my clinical training and lived experience.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I use body-based Somatic practices. Young adults struggling with increasing independence, or couples establishing boundaries are areas we can address together. Supporting difficult transitions has been core to my career, whether helping incarcerated youth set a new life path or leadership teams launching organizational change.
Compassion guides my use of the Gottman Method for couples counselling and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. While my experience with ADHD & mental health issues during my rehab & bounce-back from the trauma of a catastrophic car crash deepened my empathy, 12-years as a suicide prevention trainer & 20yrs volunteering on crisis-lines honed my listening skills.
