My area of interest in working with couples and individuals is to help them relieve stress and improve their relationships. I help couples to understand the negative cycles that can be damaging and to engage in more effective ways when problems are overwhelming. I help individuals to experience new perspectives on problems as a beginning to making things better. Developing an environment of trust and confidentiality is my primary focus, helping people feel safe in sharing their personal problems. There are many reasons that someone might seek counselling. One may feel sadness, anger or despair. What has been working no longer works. Counselling can help by understanding problems from another perspective and it can lighten the burden. Together we creatively look at ways to manage some very difficult problems.
I work with couples and individuals using current therapeutic methods that focus on emotion and individual strengths. My background is in teaching teens with learning problems. Later, I resumed my education in counselling in order to be able to work with people who are experiencing difficulty in their relationships.
