No one tells you that trying to get pregnant, staying pregnant, or giving birth can completely rewire your nervous system. We expect joy. We're handed pressure. And when things don't go "right," many people leave feeling broken instead of supported. In my work with people navigating birth trauma, fertility, pregnancy loss, endometriosis, and PCOS, I often hear the same sentence in different forms: "I don't recognize myself anymore." Therapy offers the opportunity to unpack how much these unexpected life transitions are reshaping us.
It's important to know that you are not a problem to be fixed. And while we find our way back to ourselves tools from a therapist come in handy! I support the people that I see with EMDR, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Somatic techniques and Narrative Therapy. In a nutshell, I challenge societal expectations placed on us while processing trauma and anxiety.
You can expect me to bring compassion, warmth, directness, and humour to our therapy sessions and a trauma-informed approach and lens to the work that we do together. Healing begins not when we "become positive enough" but when we become compassionate enough with the parts of ourselves that are hurting. I look forward to being a part of your journey!
