I work with youth and adults who are struggling with cumulative stress, anxiety, or trauma and want to develop a sense of emotional stability and well-being; they're looking for a therapist who can be authentic. Going beyond traditional talk therapy, I use somatic (body-based) psychotherapy in healing trauma, including developmental trauma - childhood abuse, neglect, or caregiver misattunement. Somatic therapy is a gentle experiential approach that integrates awareness of body sensations to allow the body, mind and emotions to heal more from trauma, so you can feel more connected and engaged in your life.
Before healing from traumatic experiences, you might feel like you're often in a fight-or-flight state (on edge, irritable, angry, can't sleep) or feel shut down (numb, no energy, depressed, or dissociated). I use Somatic Experiencing and other somatic approaches for trauma-focused work, and to treat anxiety and cumulative stress.
My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming - I work with individuals of all genders, sexual & romantic orientations, and relationship styles. You're welcome to come talk to me for 15 minutes (no charge) - you can ask any questions you might have, and see if we're a good fit.

Groups
Trauma-Informed Mindfulness & Somatics

Mindfulness, meditation, and somatics practices can contribute to mental health, healing, and well-being. In this group program, you'll try out short practices that can help with anxiety, sleep, self-acceptance, and management of emotions. We'll go over adaptations to these practices for people with post-trauma symptoms. Sessions will also cover key concepts to recovery from trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress. Participants will be supported to create a home practice that works for each individual. The overall goal is to build your nervous system’s capacity to feel safe, centered, connected, and resilient.
