As a Registered Psychologist, I specialize in using neurofeedback therapy. It is a very unique type of therapy that I find to be incredibly effective for many mental health concerns. Trauma, either physical or emotional, can cause the brain to lose its balance. Instead of medications, or talk therapy, we go right to the source of many issues, the brain. By training the brain to have better activity, you will notice improvements in many areas of your life! Sessions are relaxing (many people even sleep through a session), very safe, simple and effective.

Life can sometimes be a bit of a handful. Feelings of stress, overwhelm, and/or maybe just not knowing where to turn or what to do next. Often those times of challenge are our greatest growth, but it is difficult to see the opportunity for growth at the time. Sometimes just talking about those challenges, can help one gain perspective and develop a plan forward. My goal in therapy is to provide my clients with an objective perspective to see their problems or challenges differently, perhaps less daunting, helping them find a way forward. Life happens to all of us. I believe people are more capable than they realize.

You're not alone if you are struggling with low mood, overwhelming emotions, or stuck in unwanted habits. It can be difficult to stop worrying about the future or ruminating on the past. When we feel overwhelmed by emotions, thoughts, and sensations in our bodies, we move away from social situations and opportunities that used to feel good. We become more disconnected from ourselves and others. We feel more alone, and uncomfortable in our own skin or unworthy of love and eventually, the actions we took to help cope are now becoming a problem of their own. We all have our unique challenges and it can be difficult to manage alone.

Struggling in silence? Do you wake up feeling drained, wishing you could stay in bed, questioning the purpose of it all? Do you feel trapped, lonely, overwhelmed, stressed, or disconnected from others? Do thoughts like "I'm not good enough," "I'm a failure," or "I don't matter" run through your mind? Is it hard to focus or find joy in activities that once brought you happiness? Are painful memories from childhood, a recent loss, or a traumatic event affecting your ability to manage daily life? Are these thoughts and feelings affecting your personal relationships? Living and "adulting" is hard. Lets work together to make sense of it.

Each of us is on a sacred journey of becoming – to know and understand ourselves and the stories we find ourselves in. There are seasons in every person's life when we are no longer able to make sense of our stories. We can lose touch with or feel stuck in our stories when we are wounded by painful experiences or past trauma, struggling with relationships, weighed down by grief and loss, or weary with lost purpose and meaning in our lives. What do you do when you find yourself "a stranger in your own story"?

Many people I work with feel stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand—always on edge, emotionally shut down, overwhelmed by guilt or shame, or disconnected from themselves & others. These responses often make sense when perhaps you've lived through loss, experienced a major life transition or faced ongoing stress or trauma.
I believe therapy isn’t about pushing you to relive the past before you’re ready—it’s about helping to understand what is showing up & creating ways to feel more grounded, steady & in control of your life.

The unfortunate truth is that life will always present tough times and challenges. Trauma and stress do not discriminate and can be immensely impactful. It may be easier at times to repress difficult feelings and emotions, rather than face them head-on. However, what is repressed can slowly seep out into multiple areas of one's life, impacting self-esteem, relationships, ability to cope, etc. Together, we can work on your goals to enhance what you already have within you to cope, regulate, and enhance your quality of life.
