I am a registered psychologist working in Edmonton. I work primarily with individual adults and couples, but I have experience with children, and families as well. I have over 6 years experience working with complex clients with complex problems and I have provided mentorship and supervision to student therapists. My main areas of focus are identity, depression, anxiety, trauma and sexual issues (sexual abuse & trauma, sexual identity & orientation, intimacy issues, and sexual disorders).
I employ a narrative and person centered approach. I believe that because each person is an individual, effective therapy must be tailored to match specific client needs. The client is the expert in their life and I seek to provide guidance to help clients better understand themselves. In this way, sessions are collaborative and centered around the client.
I offer a brief consultation where clients can touch base with me on areas of concern or inquiry and see if we might be a fit for one another. I think it is important to connect before sessions in order to begin with a sense of comfort and awareness. If we are not a fit for each other, I will do my best to offer potential referral options.
