On the outside, you are a professional/executive who has everything! Yet, on the inside, you struggle with anxiety, impostor syndrome, overthinking, feeling stuck and defective. You even feel guilty and "ungrateful" for being dissatisfied with your life, and for not spending enough quality time with your loved ones. In fact, you feel lonely at times. You can tell that your work life is negatively impacted by your difficulties; your biggest fear is that one day, you will lose everything you worked so hard for, and that you will never achieve the work and personal lives, as well as the romantic relationship, you yearn for.

You want a LIFE more worth LIVING! Lets create that together! At all times, we are always doing the best we can with what we have: the knowledge, skills, experience and the information we posses in the moment. But, we often judge our "past" selves (and others in our past) from where we are at "today". This can create problems. With guidance, we can learn how our own (and others) past decisions, actions and experiences can create problems for us today. With understanding, we can learn to live more effectively! I invite you to join me for this journey!!

I'm a Registered Psychologist and have worked in a variety of settings providing clinical, community and school based therapeutic services for over 15 years. I work from a client-centered approach and believe that for change to occur there must be a genuine, non-judgemental relationship between the client and the therapist. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them gain greater awareness, insight and to ultimately create balance within their lives. I seek to empower my clients so they can build upon their own internal resources and develop better coping skills to help them deal with whatever life challenges they may face.

I am here to listen and here to help you find the solutions you need to 'thrive', not just 'survive'. I value the creation of a comfortable, secure, 'worry-free' environment where people can feel safe in working through their problems without the fear of judgement or being forced to work through issues they are not ready to address yet. I provide assistance that is tailored to your needs, gathering comprehensive information about your difficulties and considering a wide range of treatment techniques. The choice of effective treatment arises out of an honest and open collaboration between you and me.

I believe we all have internal strengths and resources to work through life's challenges. Sometimes we lose sight of these strengths, sometimes there are gaps in our skills set, or perhaps there are blind spots in how we view a problem situation. My role is to help clients explore, discover and understand themselves and to help clients learn new skills and strategies to address the presenting concern.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or province where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
How much does therapy cost?
Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $3200 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
