Society used to look at mental health issues as something to be ashamed of, but we don't have to any more. Mental health, like physical health, is something that absolutely everyone must work at to feel good. It's rewarding work, but it isn't always easy. Traumatic events or even just daily struggles can sometimes lead to addictions, poor relationships with others, or strong feelings of disconnection and worthlessness. The resources we need to stay balanced, to grow, and to feel whole are within each of us, but sometimes we have trouble finding them on our own.

Helping people to navigate life's complexities, reconnect with meaning, and find language for their experiences are passions for Kristi-Anna. She is sincere in her interactions, down-to-earth, and a careful listener. Areas she often works with include grief, navigating change, and making sense of the past and present. She also helps clients who are contemplating whether or not to remain in present situations, including relationships, jobs, or educational trajectories, where people can sometimes feel stuck, constricted, or on auto-pilot. Her approach is humanistic, trauma-informed, and non-pathologizing.

Being a helping professional has always been challenging, but these days it feels even harder. You feel stressed, overwhelmed, or exhausted. You're struggling to find the energy to spend on the things and people you love. Work-life balance sounds like a myth when you're simply trying to survive each day. Sound familiar? Then you're in the right place. You are more than just your work - you are a person first. You deserve the same high quality care and support that you give to others. My job is to help you manage stress and burnout so you can get back to feeling like yourself again - and start living a life that you love.

If you are looking to overcome past traumas or adverse experiences; to manage symptoms related to anxiety, post-traumatic stress, grief, mood disorders, or body-focused repetitive behaviours, I believe my extensive training and experience can help. My personal experiences as a wife, a parent, and a trauma survivor allow me to empathise, and build meaningful relationships with my clients. We all have the strengths needed to move toward healing, and therapy can be the key to getting there. I would love the opportunity to join you on your journey to finding your joy!

Sometimes life can feel very difficult and we are not quite sure why. Often times we are not how to make sense of our lives in a meaningful way and that can stop us from being who we truly are. Or maybe you have been through difficult times in your life that you are not quite sure how to overcome. These difficult experiences can get in the way of maintaining meaningful relationships, building trust or feeling at peace. Processing these events can take place at any age and can look different for each individual. The important part is that you feel genuinely seen and heard.

I believe people experience psychological/emotional suffering because they are not able to relate deeply enough to certain aspects of themselves. This disconnection causes "symptoms" and pain. Depression and anxiety are the most common, but they can further develop into problems with identity, addictions, anger, suicidal feelings, despair, problems in relationships, personality disorders etc. To relieve suffering and to further ones personal development, a deeper connection with self is needed. The clients I usually work with are people who feel thwarted in their attempts to be happy, have satisfying relationships, achieve success.

Hello! I see you’re scrolling through therapists and you’ve paused long enough to read my little blurb. I’m so glad you’re here! If you are struggling with your sexuality or your relationships we can work through it together. Do you have concerns about your sexual desire: Too much? Too little? Too different? Are you grappling with your sexuality, coming out, or dealing with shame and stigma? Maybe things were great but something’s changed (what hasn’t these days?) and you need some help there. Your relationship could also be entering a new stage and you need some help navigating all those new challenges.

Hi, I'm glad you're here. I'm Whitney, and I'm a Registered Psychologist. My focus is working with both couples and adults on a range of concerns. No matter who I am working with, I am guided by the following values: honesty, curiosity, and fun. In therapy, this means that I'm straightforward, I seek feedback from clients to ensure therapy is meeting their needs and/or adapt the process when needed, and also take the opportunity to use creativity and humor to enhance therapy.

We all long to live and express who we truly are and we know intuitively that our essential nature is loving and kind, peaceful and joyful, creative and connected. But most of us are conditioned with limiting beliefs and negative inner voices that stand in the way of living our authentic self. Habitual ways of thinking and feeling - "living on autopilot" - prevent us from feeling fully alive. Dropping into your heart, and including the wisdom of your body will help you identify the invisible strings that lead to chronic stress, anxiety, overwhelm, negativity... building true balance and resilience will follow.
