"My practice, over the years, has become more and more attuned to problems of conflict and issues of violence. As a trained child psychologist, I have seen first hand the raw damage an emotional injury continues to create. As a clinician, it has not been unusual for me to see the same sorts of trauma: yet locked away in one's memory, living on in current behaviour. This is what conflict can do. The issues just seem to keep on repeating themselves, inevitably with the same unfortunate outcomes. (My role sometimes is the Life Coach who becomes a personal guide.)"

"As a clinical psychologist for 18 years, I have come to appreciate that people and life are both wonderful and complicated. As such, my approach to therapy is to bring as much creativity as possible, in order to address individual needs and styles - I work with each person and couple differently. For some, I use a CBT approach or give homework or teach skills. For others, I look more for insights into emotions or patterns."

"I think everyone should have a therapist. I realize how self-serving that sounds, but if we see a medical doctor on a regular basis (yes, you should do that too!) for our physical health, why wouldn’t we have someone in our pocket for mental health as well? If there is a stigma around mental health, there is stigma of having a therapist as well. I regularly meet with people that have never accessed a mental health professional and after one session you can see the anxiety leave them as I help take away those social pressures and instead focus on you, that’s what I want, to be team YOU!"

When you are exposed to work environments that violate your four basic needs: safe attachment, control, self esteem and distress avoidance, you can be injured and suffer severe psychological pain. My practice focuses on developing coping strategies when you can't leave and healing psychological injury sustained from harassment and discrimination, bullying, incivility and work overload. If you have been exposed to harmful environments you may be severely injured and may need treatment that focuses on these moral violations."
