"Have you ever heard that a fish is the last to discover water? Sometimes individuals are so embedded in their mindsets that they can become blind to seeing their lives in any other way. We all have our individual way of seeing our lives, but sometimes this special lens through which we look at life can be limiting. Using evidence-based psychotherapies, I hope to provide you with new ways of seeing and being in your world. There are specific, efficacious tools to help people escape the feeling of being trapped in anxiety, depression or other personal or relationship issue."

"I think everyone should have a therapist. I realize how self-serving that sounds, but if we see a medical doctor on a regular basis (yes, you should do that too!) for our physical health, why wouldn’t we have someone in our pocket for mental health as well? If there is a stigma around mental health, there is stigma of having a therapist as well. I regularly meet with people that have never accessed a mental health professional and after one session you can see the anxiety leave them as I help take away those social pressures and instead focus on you, that’s what I want, to be team YOU!"

"Let me tell you my story: It was a warm morning in fall, when my mother died after a long period of suffering. I had always dreaded that day, and I had no clue how my life could continue. Her doctor encouraged me to see her death as though it had brought her freedom. Freedom was a concept that I had never known before; violence were what I knew. It was that day when I was 19 years old that I left home forever. I left behind abuse, and began my search for freedom. I found it, 19 years later."

"At times life can become complicated by stress and adversity which is difficult to navigate on our own. My counselling philosophy is grounded in the knowledge that everyone has strengths and resources that can help them thrive and all of us need genuine caring relationships to live our best lives. Unfortunately, the challenges in our lives can cause us to lose sight of our strengths and strain key relationships leaving us feeling lost, confused and overwhelmed. At these times, counselling can help to explore these thoughts and feelings, identify meaningful solutions and restore hope and overall resilience."
