About

Are you feeling stuck and wondering how best to support your children and family while still making some time for yourself? Maybe you are feeling tired and depleted and searching for ways to make space for you. Finding compassion for ourselves as parents is so important to our wellbeing and that of our families. I can provide a safe and non-judgemental space so that you can explore and reflect on the issues that are challenging you as you move toward clarity, self-awareness, and understanding.
I have been supporting children, youth and families for more than 25 years. Some of the issues I have experience with are suicide ideation, anxiety, depression, bullying, trauma and loss. I also support parents who are wondering how to encourage social and emotional qualities such as kindness and compassion in their children.
I have a solid knowledge of brain science and research and can share this in our work together. Working as a team, we will strengthen your family, increase your resiliency, and help you and your family find connection and joy.

Suzanne Vardy's Groups

Compassionate Parenting

What does it mean to parent with compassion? Why is it important? How do you stay calm in times of stress? In the Compassionate Parenting workshop, we will explore aspects of compassion - what it is and why it is important for ourselves and our children. We will look at the role of stress - how it impacts our ability to parent with compassion and ways to stay calm in the middle of stress. You will take away activities you can do with your family to build family connection and compassion.

Compassionate Kids

What is self-regulation? What does "emotional vocabulary" mean? Can we increase our children's (and our own) emotional vocabulary? What is the link between emotional vocabulary and self-regulation? This workshop digs into these questions and gives you activities you can do with your family to build caring and compassion at home. Next session will be January 20th, 2018

Family Focus

What values does your family hold? How do you communicate those values to your children? What is the culture of your family? How can you create a Family Charter? In the Family Focus workshop, we will explore the story of your family - what it is, what you would like it to be, and how to change it. You will leave with practical ideas for connecting with your family and bringing your children into the conversation.
