Hello and welcome! If you reading my personal statement you have taken that first step to reach out for help or support. For some of you this first step might have been easy, for many others starting the search took some time. And choosing a counsellor by having a brief conversation is next. I start the counseling process exactly where you are. Using a style that is collaborative and gentle, but can switch to using humour and challenge if that works better for you.
Together we can explore your reasons for seeking counselling and what you would like to change through the therapeutic process. I use interventions from a number of theoretical orientations including INF (Internal Family Systems), EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and CBT but I am always guided by what looks and feels right for you.
Taking that next step and reaching out for help can be difficult but counselling can help. Counselling can increase your understanding of the problem, help you explore and process feelings, and set the stage for change and action.
