I am passionate about working with adult individuals who struggle with PTSD and trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, co-dependency, stress management, and relationship issues. Generally, my clients are functioning quite well in their day-to-day lives, but negative thought patterns and behaviours (which may have served them in the past, but no longer are) tend to get in the way of their ability to cope with work, relationships, etc.
I take a holistic and humanistic approach with my clients by embodying 1. genuineness, 2. empathic understanding, and 3. positive regard, three ingredients Carl Rogers said are necessary for personal growth. The main therapeutic modalities I use are REBT, CBT and solution-focused. I have also completed basic training in EMDR Therapy (Levels 1 & 2).
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and respectful. I will validate your experience, but also challenge old thinking patterns and belief systems that are no longer serving you. If any of this aligns with what you are seeking, it would be an honour to collaborate with you on your journey.
