Hearing the words "you have cancer" can be terrifying. I know from experience. Years ago, my therapist taught me how to skillfully use my imagination. This practice helped me in my recent journey of personal healing. My experiences inform my work as a therapist. I work from a stance of "what is right with you, and what have you done to get you from there to here?" I welcome your input, especially if you think I misunderstood you. You will learn about the gifts of imagination, and what it means to become aware of inner resources already present within. Knowing the difference between anxiety, stress, and worry is life changing.
I have a trauma informed, eclectic approach that includes reflective writing, art making, song, guided imagery, inner child dialogue. We are all a blend of emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual parts. By connecting with parts of your unique self, integration and freedom from self-destructive thoughts and behaviors is possible.
I focus on inclusion not exclusion. If you are struggling with your sexual identity or gender, you are safe with me. Amidst suffering it helps to be reminded of the strengths and qualities that helped you survive. However we identify in the world, we all have potential, intelligence and creativity.
