About
I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist located in Ottawa providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and teenagers and their families. Most of the people who come to see me are referred due to common psychological problems (such as anxiety, depression, work stress) as well as health problems and stressful or confusing life events. I specialize in working with teens (ages 12 and up.) One third of my practice is teens, one third adults and one third couples.
My training is in psychodynamic psychotherapy with Object Relations being my theoretical foundation. (Object Relations is an Attachment theory developed by British therapist named D.W. Winnicott.) I see psychotherapy in a very practical way. It is a time where you can learn some "psychological tools" that will assist you to deal with your situation.
In therapy, you often end up seeing the issues from a new perspective with the end result that you will be able to respond differently to the problem. In that way, you will be acting in your own best interests with a renewed self-confidence.
