In my private practice I offer therapy to people who need more than what they can access through short term services. I have worked in mental health and employee assistance programs (EAP), and enjoy doing longer term therapy. Primarily, I work with adults who are struggling with mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, couples with relationship concerns, and people who have life changes they are working through. In my practice, I take an anti-oppression, culturally informed stance to peoples' issues and experiences. I am committed to ongoing professional development.
I have extensive training and knowledge of concepts in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Adult Attachment, and Emotion Focussed Therapy (EFT). I have expansive experience in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, LGBTQ+ concerns, and relationship issues.
I hope to assist people in working through experiences that have become barriers in moving forward in their lives. This often involves facilitating insight into their concerns, teaching and encouraging them to practice skills to help them manage, and supporting their growth and change. I believe we all need support and understanding when we are troubled.
