I help people who are struggling with life transitions (e.g. career, family, relationship, loss) and recovery (e.g. trauma, depression, stress/anxiety, isolation). I am pleased to work with mature minors and adults, and have experience making therapy a "port of entry" for you to engage and achieve your goals. My office is located at the Ritchie Mill Building, near the corner of Saskatchewan Drive and Gateway Blvd, and I am available during daytime office hours. Free 2 hour parking
I practice by forming a working relationship with you based on careful listening, respect, and trust. I help you find dignity and understanding of your thoughts, beliefs, behaviours, body reactions, and emotions. We work together to generate new perspectives on what may hold you back and start taking action towards your goals. For anxiety-provoking or traumatic events, I practice Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and follow structural dissociation theory to maximize the benefits of EMDR.
I was formerly a trading analyst in the Alberta energy sector and understand how downturns affect people and their families. I also have experience with trauma and how to recover from the effects of unforgettable events. I had the honour to help survivors of domestic violence reclaim their lives, young adults recover from addiction and trauma, and veterans/first responders claim the meaning of the service they provide. I have a specialty in group psychotherapy and psychodrama-informed techniques. I structure my groups to be effective spaces for people to achieve their goals.
