I have nine years of experience working with individuals with chronic stress, anxiety, perfectionism, self criticism, depression, and burn out. To start, I work primarily with youth, young adults, and adults who are struggling with anxiety/worry, depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, low motivation, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, grief/loss, as well as addiction & problematic substance use. Together, we will explore the barriers/obstacles that are getting in the way of you living your "best life" and we will work toward a place in which you feel more balanced, confident, healthier, and happier.

I typically work with adults and adolescents who are experiencing a variety of concerns, including, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and relationship problems. I often hear from clients that they need time and space to freely express and explore their thoughts and feelings with someone who holds an outsider's perspective and is also understanding, nonjudgmental, authentic, and offers expertise in the issues the client is bringing to the table. I can provide this space to help sort out your thoughts in order to find the empowerment and insight within.

Relationship struggles, shifting goals, social pressures and the added stress that comes with change can leave us overwhelmed, make us feel stuck, make us question if we're good enough or make make our decisions feel impossible. I originate from a Northern Ontario community but have been happily settled in the Ottawa area for almost 20 years. I am a bilingual (fluent in French and English), Social Worker and it has been my great pleasure to work in the field of mental health social work with Children, Youth and Adults since 2006. I supervise a skilled team of therapists who provide integrative and compassionate therapy services to adolescents and adults for stress, worry, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting challenges, sadness, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, perfectionism, difficult life transitions and other emotional problems that interfere with day to day functioning. We offer comprehensive assessments to children and adults for attention and/or learning style differences like Gifted Abilities, ADHD, reading difficulties (Dyslexia), writing difficulties and mathematics difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I often wonder why there is so much pain and suffering. I realized that what we need is not homeostasis or a tensionless state. Instead, we need the right amount of tension for change, growth, and development to take place. I had the privilege to journey with people facing different aspects of the human condition (suffering, grief, loss, meaninglessness, etc.) I am often amazed by human determination, courage, and strength in the process toward growth and development as they face life challenges. Life is full of challenges and adversity; it would be a privilege to journey with you toward a meaningful and purpose-driven life.

You are struggling with feelings of stress, overwhelmedness, and stuck-ness that might be new—or you’ve had them as long as you can remember. You might be feeling low, unmotivated, and having a hard time getting back to your ‘usual self'. Your life, career, or relationships just aren't going the way you'd like them to, and you want to create more helpful patterns and experiences. These and other issues (grief, parenting and pregnancy/postpartum) are all things people I see are experiencing and wanting to change. I am fluent in ASL and understand the unique issues clients who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing face.

I offer assessment, therapy, and consultation services to adults and couples contending with a range of challenges related to adjustment to significant life events and transitions, anxiety, depression, end-of-life considerations, grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, post-traumatic stress, and treatment adherence. While I emphasize an experiential (i.e., emotion-focused, mindfulness-based) approach to therapy, integrated within interpersonal and systems frameworks, I am also able to draw on cognitive-behavioural techniques.

I have been working in Social services for over 30 years; over 20 in private practice. I enjoy using the eclectic combinations of modalities that I have learned. In general I find that as humans, our minds cause us a great deal of suffering. Learning to understand our minds so that we can change the negative scripts that keep us stuck in the same patterns is the greatest gift I have to offer. It is only then that we can experience our full potential of happiness and fulfillment in life. I use a client-centred approach. My practice welcomes the diversity of all humans.

I help my clients develop healthy ways to manage distress, find ways to move out of being stuck, develop new insight for unresolved issues, and increase overall wellbeing. My primary focus is working with clients who have experienced trauma. Because the nature of trauma is complex, I use an integrative, person-centered approach to meet my clients' needs at their pace and readiness.
