People might choose to work with me in therapy for many reasons. Most often, this is related to difficulty with emotions/emotion regulation, low mood/depression, and/or anxiety. I also work with individuals struggling with self-harm and OCD. During initial sessions, I work collaboratively with people to identify their goals for therapy and establish a plan for how we’ll work together towards those goals. I work with adolescents, adults, children and/or their parents.
I provide psychoeducational assessments (learning disabilities/ADHD) for ages 7-17, as well as diagnostic assessments (mental health) for adolescents and adults.
I work with people in a way that is collaborative, empathetic and warm, and that emphasizes their strengths. I value engaging clients in all aspects of the therapy process in a collaborative way and enjoy helping them build motivation for change. I work primarily using Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches.
