I have worked with children, youth and their families since 2010. More recently I have expanded to working with adults and couples, and have completed additional training in couples and family therapy through the University of Guelph. I have experience supporting complex mental health and wellbeing issues, and am comfortable working with clients who are, or who have, experienced trauma, complex family systems issues, and life transitions (including grief and loss).
I have specific training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, working with children who have been sexually abused or who have sexual behaviour problems, Narrative Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I am currently completing additional training in Perinatal Mental Health.
I work from a systems and environmental perspective, recognizing that a person is part of many different environments, each of which contribute to the wellbeing of the individual. My focus during therapy is to create a collaborative environment where individuals can work at their own pace, while being supported, challenged and celebrated.
