Hello! I am an attachment-oriented psychologist specializing in treating anxiety, stress, shame, trauma, relationship, and occupational concerns for adults and teenagers. My practice is grounded in the belief that we are all hard-wired for connection. I believe that psychological distress is a symptom of disconnection. We can experience disconnection with ourselves (e.g., shame), others (e.g. alienated), or with situations that we’d rather not deal with (e.g. avoidance). I help my clients face the things in life that keep them stuck or anxious so that they can live more free and satisfying lives.
I specialize in CBT, psychodynamic, and PTSD therapies. CBT helps people change the meaning of a belief in order to feel differently about it. Psychodynamic therapy helps people manage their own fears of not being 'good enough' in relationships so that they don't sabotage them. PTSD therapy helps people manage painful memories that they have avoided.
The biggest misconception about therapy is that it’s for weak individuals who are incapable of navigating life on their own. It actually takes quite a bit of strength to learn new and better ways of coping with life.
