I focus on helping people to understand and express their identity in the context of the intersection between 2SLGBTQ+ issues and the mental health struggles that accompany this journey, such as anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
As a cisgender gay man myself, I have personal experience with this self-acceptance journey and I use that knowledge to help clients reframe thoughts, enact self-compassion and remember that thoughts are just thoughts, not facts. My approach is 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and eclectic, including cognitive, narrative, and compassionate elements.

People come to me for support with: anxiety and panic, OCD and related conditions, stress, depression and mood issues, existential issues, sexuality, gender, trauma, anger, relationships, and life transitions.
My therapeutic style is integrative and person-centred. I combine psychoeducation, mindfulness, cognitive/behavioral, and psychodynamic therapies. I love helping people find new perspectives, and uncover their own 'aha!' moments. Adjacent to my work, I enjoy studying the 'big' questions related to science, nature, spirit, and how to make sense of our lives.

I work with neurodivergence, attachment issues, trauma, and individuals who have been impacted by relationships involving significant personality disorder traits (such as narcissistic or borderline patterns) in addition to OCD, addictions, relationship conflict, anxiety, and depression.
Many people have already talked their stories through. The goal here isn’t to endlessly process - it’s to heal. We go beneath coping and analysis, carefully deconstruct what’s holding you in place and rebuild from the foundation up. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) supporting adults, couples, and adolescents through trauma, neurodivergence, self-esteem issues, trauma, life transitions, abuse, and attachment-based challenges. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices. Many of my clients have experienced therapy before but are ready for a deeper layer of healing. I provide a comforting space to heal while growing.

I work primarily with children ages four and up through play therapy. Because we cannot expect young children to sit down and discuss their problems and feelings like adults do, allowing a child to express themselves through play is very effective. This builds on the way children naturally communicate - through play! Play also creates a safe place for children to express something that they find troubling. This means that very difficult topics can be worked through in a playful or metaphorical way which is age appropriate for the child. I am Saskatoon’s first and only Certified Play Therapist.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the demands of daily life, navigating strained relationships, or facing changes that seem impossible to manage? Perhaps you've already been through a lot, now you’re trying to move forward but find yourself stuck in the same patterns. You’re tired of trying to hold everything together while, deep down, you’re really struggling. Or, you might be a parent, deeply concerned about your child who seems to be struggling. The unique pressures and challenges of growing up today can be overwhelming for both kids and parents. These difficulties can leave you feeling uncertain about how best to support them.

I offer counselling services for children (ages 10+), youth, and adults. Does sitting face-to-face talking about things intimidate you? Me too. That's why I provide a non-traditional type of therapy where we can talk over a coffee, doing a puzzle together, going for a walk, or creating art (yes, even for adults!). When you feel less “in the spotlight” it creates space for safety, comfortability, vulnerability, and in return - healing. I have experience in supporting those navigating anxiety, emotional dysregulation, complex trauma, body image concerns, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and anything else life throws your way.

I support children and youth with anxiety (including OCD), low self-esteem, social challenges, learning difficulties, depression, and suicidal ideation.
Is your child having a hard time feeling understood, feeling like everything is difficult, while also having many strengths they can’t yet recognize? My goal is to help your child feel heard, understood, and capable. I work with children and youth (5–19) who are bright but struggling at school or at home, and may be anxious, neurodivergent, or experiencing low mood. This may look like avoiding work, shutting down, or big emotional reactions. I also support parents who feel stuck in cycles of conflict and want to rebuild connection. I offer counselling and psychoeducational assessments to support success at home and school.

I have had the pleasure of working with a highly variable spectrum of individuals. My experience includes work with youth/adults in the correctional system, in-patient treatment facilities, outpatient treatment facilities, NCRMD forensic care homes, and private consulting for individuals ranging from 16-65. I do not have an "ideal" client. I thrive on being challenged, and exploring the human sciences allows me that challenge, regardless of clientele. Over the last year, I have developed my education in child and youth mental health intervention and counselling as well.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Counsellors
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, and sertraline, among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
