Attachment-based Therapists in Saskatoon, SK
I am a Master’s-level therapist working under clinical supervision. I bring both lived and clinical understanding into my work as a person who has lived with chronic health issues, is neurodiverse, and is also a caretaker.
I offer a collaborative, person-centred, relational approach to therapy where we move at your pace—not the pace you feel pressured to keep up with.
I meet clients where they are at. For some, that means deep emotional exploration of their past. For others, it may simply mean having a safe space to exhale, slow down, and feel less alone in what they are carrying.

I work with couples, individuals including adults, teens and the neurodiverse community who are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or uncertain and want to better understand what’s happening in their lives. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship or communication challenges, or are looking for direction in life. My approach is holistic, looking at the whole person — thoughts, emotions, regulation — and how these pieces interact to support overall well-being. Together, we explore patterns from the past, what’s happening and ways to move toward a future that feels more balanced, authentic, and fulfilling.

You’re used to being the one with all the answers, the one who pushes through, and the one everyone else relies on. But even the strongest people need a place where they don’t have to perform. If you’re feeling the weight of burnout, the quiet hum of anxiety, or the heavy echoes of religious trauma that tell you your worth is tied to your output, I want you to know you don’t have to carry that alone. I want you to know you don’t have to carry that alone. Sometimes, words aren’t enough, especially when your story has been shaped by systems that demanded you talk, pray, or think your way out of your pain.

At especially stressful times in our lives, we may have felt anxious, depressed and fearful. We may resort to "self-medicating" our painful feelings through the use of alcohol, drugs, eating too much/little, "zoning out" through process addictions such as gambling, gaming, porn or even playing bingo. When what we are doing is actually contributing to our problems - we may feel even more out of control and fearful. It can be helpful at times like these to talk to someone who can help us make sense of it all. We begin to make positive incremental changes and our stress level may go down. Life begins to work again.

Attachment-based Counsellors
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
