It's also common for relationship distress to increase alongside parent stress with around 2/3 of couples reporting less marital satisfaction after becoming parents.
With over a decade of experience and a master’s degree in clinical social work, I bridge evidence-based therapeutic models with practical suggestions for change. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy alongside Dialectical Behaviour Therapy in individual sessions and the Gottman Method for couple's counselling.

I have a specialized Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy that looks at how people relate to each other.
Relationships are difficult. I work on building communication to help each partner feel seen, heard and understood. We often find ourselves in cycles or patterns of interacting with each other. Learning about these patterns can help us find new ways to bring closer to our partner. Increasing communication, connection and intimacy.

For marital and couples concerns, I completed my Gottman level 1 training and can offer pre- marital counselling.
My focus is working with individuals who may be experiencing various stresses like anxiety, low mood; or perhaps difficulties managing emotions, and feeling reactive in interpersonal circumstances. With a background working with moderate to severe concerns of children & youth, I can support parents in identifying the concerns of their child, and support them in learning how to connect and attune to their children's needs. I also work with couples who are looking to strengthen their relationship and prepare for transitions like parenthood. Lastly, I enjoy integrating my Christian faith background into the practice as clients see fit.

If your provider does not cover Psychotherapists, I am supervised by a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist which is covered under most plans.
Welcome! Life is messy, beautiful, enduring and at times intensely painful and confusing. My intention is to create a safe space for you to land, nourished with empathy and understanding. Many of us are reaching outside of ourselves for happiness or utilizing avoidance strategies to cope; creating a void or level of fear that is often challenging to describe and keeps us in frantic overwhelm or a numb detachment from our inner joy. Being Neurodiverse, I hold a unique understanding of different traits and sensitivities and tailor support for a peaceful partnership with yourself and the world around you, if that is a desire you hold.

As a Marriage & Family therapist (RMFT-SQ), Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT), and Clinical Counsellor (CCC), I am uniquely trained to work with individuals, couples, and families.
You don’t have to hold it all together.
If you're feeling stretched thin—emotionally, relationally, or spiritually—therapy can offer a place to breathe, reflect, and reconnect. Life’s challenges have a way of piling up: parenting stress, relationship tension, burnout, faith-related wounds, or the grief of dreams that haven’t come to be. Maybe you’re carrying the weight of trauma or navigating shifting dynamics with parents, child, or partner.
On the outside, you may look like you’re managing fine, but inside, it’s a different story. If any of this sounds familiar, I want you to know: you don’t have to go through it alone.

Marriage Counselling
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.
How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.
Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.
Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
