I have broad experience in counselling adolescents and adults for difficulties related to depression, trauma, sexual and gender identity, and general life and relationship stress.
I believe that psychology is a joint effort between a person and their therapist. Psychology is not about labelling; it is about helping people understand their own strengths and resilience. Respect for the client’s personal and cultural knowledge is at the centre of the caring relationship. From that respect change and improvement grows. Many mental health challenges have social and historical roots. With practice, clients can learn to move beyond the past toward a healthier life.

I am a licensed professional counsellor in Regina, SK. I work with individuals who struggle with worry and often find themselves overthinking and feeling stuck in their own thoughts. On the outside, things may seem fine, but internally it feels exhausting and frustrating. I also work with students of all ages (kindergarten to post-secondary students). School can be a tough time. Many students struggle with socializing, loneliness, stress, self regulation, disorganization, and lack of routine and habits. As a former teacher, I understand the impacts that these struggles can have on student's mental health.

My practice is grounded in several years of frontline experience supporting children, teens, families and individuals navigating diverse needs within social, medical and interpersonal systems.
Many people carry experiences that have shaped how we think, feel, respond and move through the world. At times, these experiences can feel overwhelming, confusing and isolating. Counselling can provide a space to slow down, make sense of these thoughts and reconnect with your strengths. In our work together, we will explore how your mind and body have adapted to adversity and trauma, while recognizing that resilience is already present within. My approach focuses on building self understanding, emotional regulation and tools that support lasting wellbeing.

In my work as a Registered Social Worker, I support children, teens, adults, and families as they navigate life’s tender, complicated, and often overwhelming seasons.
I am a mother of two, and this lived experience shapes my practice in meaningful ways. I understand the realities of parenting. The worry, exhaustion, advocacy, and fierce love that come with raising children. I try to bring the same empathy, curiosity, and care into my work that I bring to my own family.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
