I believe that psychology is a joint effort between a person and their therapist. Psychology is not about labelling; it is about helping people understand their own strengths and resilience. Respect for the client’s personal and cultural knowledge is at the centre of the caring relationship. From that respect change and improvement grows. Many mental health challenges have social and historical roots. With practice, clients can learn to move beyond the past toward a healthier life.

I excel in supporting individuals navigating ADHD, addiction and recovery, and complex trauma.
Life can be overwhelming, confusing, and just plain exhausting at times. You don’t have to navigate it all on your own. Having someone there to walk beside you can make things feel a little more manageable. Together we’ll take a look at what’s helping, what’s getting in the way, and what might bring more steadiness and clarity into your life. I’ve worked with both youth and adults through all kinds of challenges, and learned that healing starts with feeling safe and truly seen. My goal is to create a space where you can exhale, show up just as you are, and begin exploring parts of yourself without pressure or judgement.

I specialize in working alongside neurodivergent individuals and their families, drawing on years of experience and a deep respect for diverse ways of thinking and being. I understand the complex and often invisible barriers you might face when navigating a world that isn’t always built with neurodiversity in mind. Whether you're dealing with transitions, friendship challenges, bullying or exclusion, identity-related shame, or the pain of feeling misunderstood — you're not alone. Many of my clients come in unsure of how to put their experiences into words, and that’s completely okay. I am here to meet you where you are at!

Something Different! If you're looking for someone to help push you to places you can't get to yourself, I'm that kind of therapist. If you know you need to do some serious internal work, I can guide you through it. If you know that your current thinking, and behavior is holding you back from the life you desire, let's get to work. Life is too short to keep running up against the same obstacles time and time again, waiting for something to change. You are the obstacle. . . AND you are the change you're looking for. If this makes sense, know that your love and compassion for yourself is the healing you're looking for.

Hi, I’m Michelle, a Clinical Counsellor working with youth (16+) and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or chronic symptoms such as pain. These struggles are often linked to stress and past experiences held in the body, shaping how you feel, respond, and relate. My approach integrates mind and body, working with your nervous system and emotional landscape to build capacity rather than overwhelm. Together, we’ll develop practical skills and gently unwind long-held patterns so you can feel more grounded, connected, and able to be present with yourself and others rather than just coping.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
