We all have thoughts, feelings, hopes, fears, and habits. Therapy is a place in time to explore all of these with someone trained to help. You may know what you want, you may not. In any case my purpose is find out what matters to you and why. We may discover you don't like your priorities, or you may clarify obstacles standing between you and where you want to be. Therapy can be focused from the start or become concentrated as distractions are sifted away. Your therapy is just that, yours.

Through lived experiences, education, and over 28 years in the helping profession I'm honored to work alongside individuals and couples.
Maya Angelou offered "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." This famous quote aligns with my commitment to provide clients a safe, confidential, nonjudgmental, and affirming environment where their story can be told and unfold. We often carry the burden alone of overwhelm, stress, frustration, loss, relational conflict, caregiver burn-out and a lack of overall wellness. Goals can go beyond symptom reduction to the re-framing of challenges as springboards for growthwork: explore options, identify strengths, add capacity, create a life of meaning, wellness, connection, acceptance, & promote healing.

Despite your love for your partner, the constant conflict and growing resentment have started to erode the trust you once had.
I’ve worked with couples who felt exactly like you—isolated, overwhelmed, and unsure if their relationship could be saved. When we focus on healing hurts, uncover the roots of the issues, and invite God into the process, real transformation happens. Prayer, faith, and therapy can work together to bring lasting change for His glory.

I aim to foster resilience through strong therapeutic relationships, offering a compassionate and empowering space for healing, self-discovery, and meaningful growth.
Before becoming a counsellor, I ran a wellness business specializing in Reflexology and Reiki. This experience strengthened my ability to offer support, lead workshops, and collaborate with holistic providers. It also deepened my understanding of how trauma can manifest in the body and how energy healing supports emotional release and balance.

I’m a queer, neurodivergent therapist who primarily works with adolescents, adults and those in both monogamous and non-monogamous relationships.
As an anti-oppressive counsellor I have a deep appreciation of how people with marginalized identities struggle to navigate systems that make it difficult to simply exist. Together we can look at how to best survive, thrive and heal within and beyond these systems. I draw on somatic therapy, DBT, CBT, attachment theory, and Internal Family Systems.

The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. We work to relieve symptoms by understanding how these patterns affect current experiences, and create targeted strategies for meaningful change long-term.

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
