Oki, My name is Ek-Kanakii Mekaisto. I am part of the Blackfoot Confederacy, and my ancestors are Niitsitapi. I possess the lived experience to assist in your journey to healing from the Indian Residential School, intergenerational trauma, and the current impact of Colonization.
As a First Nation's knowledge keeper and Registered Social Worker, my education and ceremonial teachings helped me in my healing and now I am transferring the knowledge and wisdom to help others.
An eclectic approach from Social Work, Life Coaching, and Ceremonial/Traditions teachings tailor my interventions to client needs. As a certified mediator, I work will couples to reach consensus and harmony. My 5 years as a Jr/Sr. High Teacher, 3 years as a foster parent, and 15 years as a storyteller allows me to work with children, teens, and parents.
