For more than 25-years, I have specialized in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced interpersonal abuse/violence and mental health concerns. In addition, I provide assessment and counselling in the area of parent-child/adolescent issues; father-son conflict; youth addictions (sexual and substance abuse), court involved/at risk youth; and issues related to adolescent depression, disordered eating, and self-injury. I also work within the area of men's health, addressing such issues as depression and anger management concerns; childhood trauma; addictions; sex, intimacy, and sexuality related concerns; fatherhood; and martial/relationship counselling.

I regularly provide training and consultation in my area of clinical interest and practice. My office, Schuler Counselling and Consultation, is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of psychology, social work, Child and Youth Care, and psychiatry. Schuler Counselling and Consultation networks closely with several community mental health partners (public and private).

In addition, I am a faculty member at Ryerson University, in the School of Child and Youth Care and a Course Instructor in Graduate Studies, at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto. I have also published several book chapters and best practice documents in my area of clinical interest.
