I specialize in working with children ages 3+, adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health and substance use issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, unhealthy relationships, addiction and self-esteem issues.
My approach is eclectic and rooted in first understanding your strengths and needs. My passion is working with trauma, using evidenced-based approaches including EMDR, DBT and CBT. For children, I utilize Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT) as well as TraumaPlay to process traumatic events and increase emotional regulation skills and encourage parent involvement
I understand how intimidating therapy can be and that trust in your counsellor is essential for growth. As such, our first goal is always to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. I provide honest and direct feedback and always encourage the same (as well as some lighthearted humour and sarcasm if you like)
