I have extensive experience practicing clinical psychology with teens, adults and couples. When patients are open to examining the issues in their experience of unhappiness and worry - a positive outcome is within sight. The first step is to recognize the issues by name and begin exploring them. It requires openness and a non-judgemental attitude of curiosity. It means being kind, patient and compassionate towards one's self as the difficult issues are discussed. It also entails trusting the therapist as a fellow traveller in the process as one who is able to help clarify the emotional terrain and work towards a solution.
My training and experience is in the area of clinical psychology. This means tracing your story within a diagnostic framework. For many patients, emotional pain has its roots in trauma. The trauma is often from childhood, but not exclusively. I help my patients by talking about their current troubles and the developmental history that accompanies them.
It is important to recognize that our lives present very real challenges. As an experienced clinical psychologist, I can help by offering non-judgmental support when you are wanting and feeling the need for insight and unburdening your emotional self.
