Thank you for taking the time to read my profile to decide if I am the right psychologist for you. I have been working as a psychologist for the past 25 years and I strive to put people at ease as they take the important step of seeking therapy. My goal is to empower individuals to face challenges and make lasting changes in their lives by building their coping strategies and resilience. I am experienced in a variety of evidenced-based treatments and utilize a CBT approach blended with IPT, ACT, and DBT. When working with couples, I emphasize an Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) approach. Like to learn more? Please reach out.
Areas of specialty include low mood (depression), anxiety (i.e. worry/panic/PTSD), and ADHD as well helping people cope with illness (such as cancer or diabetes, chronic or acute pain), and grief or loss. I am also a consultant to the Canadian Cancer Society and Wellspring Cancer Support Network. I provide therapy and assessment services.
Having worked with Wellspring and the Canadian Cancer Society for many years, I understand the impact illness has upon the lives of those who are ill and those who care for them. I help clients manage the emotions and situations that may be triggered by the diagnosis of an illness and assist them in navigating the illness journey.
