About
I am grateful and honoured that you stopped by to visit my profile, welcome! My name is Shayla and I believe that you are here for a reason. We are all born with inherent strengths and resilience, however; when we encounter adversities, grief and trauma in different stages of our lives, we can sometimes start feeling hopeless & depleted. Our eyes can start seeing only dark and miss the light within us. My purpose is to partner and collaborate with you, bearing witness to your story with empathy. I assert myself as a non judgemental and compassionate space holder, who walks alongside you to facilitate healing.
I am humbled to have over 10 years of experience working with children, youth, families & adult individuals with multifaceted mental health issues. I avoid clustering people into one box, as there is no one size fits all to healing. I take a collaborative eclectic approach to treatment that is wholistic, person-centred and strength based.
Using evidenced based practice, I draw from culturally sensitive, healing centred and trauma informed lens that will leave you feeling seen, heard, understood, respected and valued. I have supported hundreds of people from survival mode to conscious awakening. I am excited to partner with you as you work towards your wellness and healing.
