Hello, my name is Shannon. I specialize in supporting individuals who encounter various life stressors, including anxiety and depression, and the ways this can show up in our thoughts, behaviours, and emotions. Additionally, I have expertise in women's mental health, including perinatal mental health, perimenopause, and managing the mental load of motherhood.
I am also experienced in ADHD assessment and care and I use a multifaceted approach, combining medication, behavioural therapies, and educational strategies that are individualized to each client.
I truly believe people are experts in their own lives and have the answers they are looking for within themselves; they may, however, need some guidance and support as they discover those answers. I am trained in several different types of therapies, but I prefer to individualize therapy based on a client’s needs and the strengths they already possess.
I aim to relate to clients with compassion and respect. I’ve been working as a mental health nurse for over 20 years, and I have completed extensive training in counselling and psychology.
