I have found that sometimes the most profound, transformative healing takes place within the simplicity & safety of a supportive client-therapist relationship. Authenticity, trust & respect are the guiding principles of my trauma-informed, spiritually sensitive and culturally safe practice. Rooted in positive psychology and mindfulness approaches, my counselling sessions integrate several evidence-based therapies including EMDR for trauma, DBT and CBT for anxiety, narrative & rational emotive informed therapies.
As a registered masters of social work clinician with 20 yrs experience serving individuals (including adolescents) and families in community-based & healthcare settings I offer compassionate, client-centred counselling for anxiety, depression, addictions, relational & interpersonal distress, trauma and grief & loss (including pregnancy loss).
My focus will be to work at your pace to facilitate a non-judgemental, comfortable, yet somewhat challenging therapeutic space where you feel supported to explore places you feel 'stuck' & affirmed in letting go of 'old' thoughts, feelings and behaviours that no longer serve you.
