As a Humanistic Therapist, therfore I seek to work in tandem with people to come to understand how their worldview affects life choices, especially when one is in distress. I believe that you are the best person to understand your experiences and needs, my role is simply to guide and support the process. My approach is a balance of helping people to better understand their experiences and offering guidance and support, all the while ensuring I am not interpreting one's feelings. You are viewed as the expert in your life. I will support self-acceptance by providing empathy as you work on personal growth to achieve positive changes.
When working with children and youth my role is to not be needed in the end when all is said and done. Thus, I work with the family unit in various ways to help navigate challenges, and develop coping strategies to ultimately heal and grow together.
