My approach can be described as strength-based and client-centered. I believe that the client must feel empowered, supported and dignified at all times. Clients who have had complicated lives, will often have trouble envisioning positive outcomes to their life story. This can impede and prevent growth and self- fulfillment. My job is to help clients to identify obstacles, work through impeding emotions, and arm them with new strategies. The effort should be collaborative. With my guidance, clients can shed their "negative narrative" and thus feel a sense of renewed hope. The future should seem one of possibility.
