Hi & Welcome. My name is Serena Shokar (she/her), I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW). I am the founder of Five Rivers Counselling and Wellness Services. My practice is rooted in developing meaningful connections with my clients and co-creating a safe therapeutic space. Furthermore, I enter our time together with humility, care, and compassion. My goal is to provide effective, evidence-based interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. I adhere to a holistic, culturally-responsive and trauma informed therapeutic approach, that focuses on supporting mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
I use an integrative approach including somatic/body based therapies (Mindfulness, and Yoga Therapy), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, & Play Based Interventions. Together, we can work towards understanding and overcoming challenges, fostering personal growth, learning new coping strategies, and enhancing overall well-being.
