I am currently only working remotely via zoom at this time. I am a Provisionally Licensed Psychologist (04263), and a Registered Clinical Counsellor (13648), with both a Master's degree, and PhD in Counselling Psychology from UBC. I am in the process of studying for exams required for full registration as a psychologist. My early clinical experience was trauma focused, providing individual/group counselling to survivors of sexual abuse, and more recently on disability and neurodivergence, as well as depression, anxiety, gender identity, grief and loss, emotional regulation, identity, relationship, and communication.
I have completed levels 1 & 2 of Emotion Focused Therapy training, and a DBT skills course. I focus on emotions, experiential interventions and regulation techniques to help clients transform painful emotions, feel more in control and achieve their goals. I also have training in Indigenous, diversity and multicultural issues, and remote counselling.
I am partially blind, and am attuned to how power dynamics and differences influence the issues we face. Being a white male, and having a disability, I have experienced both privilege and marginalization. I bring my lived experience of disability and difference into my clinical approach, and I deeply empathize with the struggle to feel that we are "enough".
