"I am one of the Registered Psychotherapists here at HeadWay Clinic. For a long as I can remember, I knew I was meant to work in the mental health field. I wanted to be given the chance to help others in a way that fostered confidence, empowerment and a sense of control over their own lives. I wanted to be there for people who felt alone in their struggles and listen when they believed there was no one who cared to hear them. I quickly learned that talking to others was healing and empowering; to show them that they are not alone, and to change the narrative from ‘I have to be OK’, to ‘it’s OK to not be OK sometimes’. "

"With 18 years in the field and a monthly column with Metroland News and Newmarket Today, I work with children, adults, couples and families, supporting their mental health. Difficult experiences both past and present can anchor us, keeping us trapped in a space of anxiety, depression, anger and hurt. These emotions can be exhausting and overwhelming. As a therapist, I envision my role as the support to guide you toward making a shift in healing. We do not need to stay in our past, in our traumas, and in our pain. We can move forward and thrive; we deserve to do so. "

"We all have the potential to live a better and more authentic life – a life that reflects who we are, what we value, and what we want. At certain points, however, this can feel out of reach, or plain unattainable – be it because of inner struggles such as anxiety or depression, or outer struggles such as relationship difficulties or dealing with the current climate crisis. But it doesn’t have to be that way – we all have the ability to make a positive difference in our own lives, and consequently to our relationships, our communities, and the planet as a whole. "

We “think” our way out of critical issues and we forget to listen to our body, mind and spiritual being. We need to “wake up”. We need to feel again. School Issues (Academic Underachievement, Academic Counselling) Counsellors
Students underachieve in school for a variety of reasons. Motivational problems, ADHD, and learning disabilities can all be a challenge to any parent. Child therapists, child psychologists, or school psychologists in P3C can help to assess a child's needs and offer much needed help.

Academic counsellors in P3C help with learning issues, child education issues or ADD (attention deficit). They can work with academic underachievers who are quite bright, gifted and intelligent, as well as with children with developmental disabilities (i.e. disabilities students). Additionally, P3C Counsellors work with nonverbal learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and reading difficulties.

Children with problems at school, or who are failing at school in P3C all have specific and unique instructional needs. A good P3C academic counsellor or school counsellor will provide the individualized attention and support a student needs to succeed.

How can I tell if a therapist is right for me?
Therapists in P3C are able to work with a wide range of issues.

For example, if you're seeking a marriage counsellor in P3C you'll find that most therapists are trained in marriage counselling or couples counselling in P3C and couples therapy. And they welcome families for family counselling in P3C or family therapy in P3C.
