" Working with mind and body therapies is about helping remove the barriers towards our healing. Therapeutic conversations with a highly trained professional provides an environment that is calm, trusting and non-judgmental. Reaching out can be incredibly liberating. It takes courage to live an authentic life and speak about our inner world. I understand the hidden pain that comes from being unable to live our lives as our true selves. Human troubles range from loneliness to depression, worry to anxiety, over-eating and money troubles to addictive relationships and substance abuse.Speaking about these struggles is the beginning."

"I am a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. My theoretical framework is a cognitive behavioral style. Essentially, this means therapy involves taking a look at thinking patterns that are getting in the way of progress. Most people are unaware of their thinking patterns and how they influence our emotional state and behavior. Depending on the issue, therapy may involve changing this thinking pattern in a number of different ways. Clients adopt a new thinking style that is more adaptive, leading to healthier and happier lives."

"PLEASE NOTE: I am not accepting any new clients at this time. I am a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. My approach draws from several different schools of thought, such as cognitive-behavioural (identifying and modifying thought patterns that influence behaviours and underlie psychological distress), psychodynamic ( discovering what may be going on in the unconscious mind), systemic (fostering an understanding of interactional patterns/dynamics), based on each client's individual needs. I also offer EMDR to help individuals process trauma. "

School Issues (Academic Underachievement, Academic Counselling) Counsellors
Students underachieve in school for a variety of reasons. Motivational problems, ADHD, and learning disabilities can all be a challenge to any parent. Child therapists, child psychologists, or school psychologists in K1H can help to assess a child's needs and offer much needed help.

Academic counsellors in K1H help with learning issues, child education issues or ADD (attention deficit). They can work with academic underachievers who are quite bright, gifted and intelligent, as well as with children with developmental disabilities (i.e. disabilities students). Additionally, K1H Counsellors work with nonverbal learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and reading difficulties.

Children with problems at school, or who are failing at school in K1H all have specific and unique instructional needs. A good K1H academic counsellor or school counsellor will provide the individualized attention and support a student needs to succeed.

How can I tell if a therapist is right for me?
Therapists in K1H are able to work with a wide range of issues.

For example, if you're seeking a marriage counsellor in K1H you'll find that most therapists are trained in marriage counselling or couples counselling in K1H and couples therapy. And they welcome families for family counselling in K1H or family therapy in K1H.
