I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Play Therapy Practitioner. I specialize in helping children and their families with emotional, cognitive, and behavioural difficulties. I primarily use play-based and expressive art therapies to nurture self-awareness, resilience, and mastery over challenges. Children rely a great deal on those around them to navigate the challenges they face. As such, I help parents to understand what their child's behaviour is communicating, and how they can best support them. The relationship with your child offers an opportunity for effective intervention.
Play is the first language of children and play therapy offers a way for children to express themselves, process experiences, and develop effective strategies for managing their world. Children have a natural capacity for healing and I am passionate about assisting children to gain relief from emotional difficulties.
I have spent my professional career working with children and families as an elementary school teacher, school counsellor, and in private practice. I am a strong advocate for children and assist families to better understand and navigate school challenges. Where appropriate, I consult with other professionals in your child’s life.
