Maybe you're here because you are struggling in your primary relationship; having the same old arguments with your partner, feeling disconnected & longing for more intimacy, or dealing with a difficult life event, such as a betrayal. Perhaps you're looking for help because you are feeling stressed out, anxious, and are tired of being so hard on yourself. Or maybe you're having a difficult time relating to family members or friends - unresolved tension with parents, feeling at sea with how to relate to your kids, or not feeling like you can relax & be yourself around others. The focus of my work is helping people with relationships.
In couples therapy, we work together to uncover the core, underlying issues fuelling your conflicts. You will learn to identify vulnerabilities & triggers, specific actions to take care of each other to slow down escalation, & concrete ways to repair when you go off the rails; tools that you can apply to any issue. Because it's never about the toothpaste...
I practice PACT (psychobiological approach to couples therapy), EFT (emotion-focused therapy), DARe (dynamic attachment re-patterning experience) & Gottman Couples Therapy (Level 3). I'm a certified mindful self-compassion teacher & feel the benefits in my own life. I am also a partner of 29 yrs & a parent of two children. Let's chat to see if I might help.

Short - Mindful Self-Compassion, Thurs. Evenings

The Short Course in Mindful Self-Compassion (SC-MSC) is a 6-week adaptation of the empirically-supported 8-week MSC program designed to begin the cultivation of the skills of self-compassion. SC-MSC was developed by Kristin Neff, PhD, the researcher in the field of self-compassion & Christopher Germer, PhD, a leader in the integration of mindfulness, compassion and psychotherapy. The SC-MSC 6-hour program was developed to allow participants to begin to learn a set of MSC practices with less time commitment than the full 26hr program. This course consists of six, 75-90 minute sessions.
