There is a poem by Jose Olivarez, that I admire and the poem goes like this “my therapist says I can’t make the monsters disappear no matter how much I pay her. All she can do is bring them into the room, so I can get to know them, so I can learn their names, so I can see clearly their toothless mouths, their empty hands, their pleading eyes”.
This poem is so significant to me and it speaks to the way I support each person that comes into my office. I thrive to offer a safe space for you by listening and opening my heart to dig into deep emotions than sit so heavy in the heart.
